JOB TITLE: Polysomnographic Technologist (Reference #0424), Full time

Duties/Responsibilities:

A Full-Time Polysomnographic Technologist is needed for the IMA Sleep Disorders Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing a variety of sleep study tests, processing data obtained during sleep study testing, performing routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment, maintaining appropriate documentation, and other duties as required to effectively maintain all clinical and operational aspects of the Sleep Center.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM: At least two years combined experience in one or more of the following areas; sleep medicine, respiratory care, neurodiagnostics, cardiology, nursing, EMT/paramedic. All sleep center technicians will be required to obtain the Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) credential within three years from date of hire in the Sleep Center. PREFER: Candidates credentialed or licensed as, Respiratory Care (RRT/CRT with Indiana RCP license), Sleep Medicine (RPSGT), Neurodiagnostic Technician (REEGT), Nursing (RN, LPN), Cardiology Technician, Credentialed EMT/Paramedic. Certification in Basic Life Support; must be maintained according to department policy and procedures. Able to operate complex equipment, which includes the ability to recognize defective operation and perform minor calibrations or repairs to equipment. Recognize defects in the record caused by movement, loose electrodes, and local interference. Independent judgment based on thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures. Ability to handle confidential information and to answer questions in the absence of the Sleep Lab Director. Effective communication skills, computer skills, technical adaptability, and the ability to work without direct supervision.
